RUSHVILLE —
Roy A. Vaughn, 89, a longtime Rush County resident, passed away in Connersville Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.
He was born March 22, 1923 in Fayette County to Albert H. and Oma M. (Leonard) Vaughn. He was a 1942 graduate of Connersville High School. Roy married Martha (Welch) May 12, 1944; she survives.
Roy worked for 42 years as a journeyman electrician with D&M in Connersville, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the UAW Local #151 in Connersville, Glenwood Methodist Church and was a regional champion Cornhusker.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Rushville; sons, Dale and wife Marge Vaughn of Laurel, Howard and wife Jayne Vaughn of Connersville, Gene and wife Teeann Vaughn of Carmichael, Calif. and Noel Vaughn of Greensburg; daughters, Sara Vaughn and Nina Power, both of Rushville; 11 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several step great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Roy was preceded in death by brothers, Milton, Raymond, Ralph and Donald; sisters, Evelyn, Naoma, Ethel, Ruth and Clarabelle; and a step grandson, Scott.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor David Stephens presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery.
