Charles E. "Sonny" Moore, 68, of Rushville, died July 24, 2009.
Born May 18, 1941 in Shelby County, he was the son of Wilbur and Marjorie (Rhoades) Moore, both deceased. He married Penny Jane Nickel June 17, 1972; she survives.
Mr. Moore was a Rush County farmer his entire life and worked for the Rush County Highway Department for 12 years, retiring in 2004. He was a 1960 graduate of Laurel High School.
Survivors in addition to his wife include sons, Charles Edward and Kenneth Scott (Samantha) Moore, both of Lafayette, and Sonny Jay (Jolinda) of Franklin; daughter, Christina (Steve) Hoynacki of Commerce, Mich.; brothers, Mike and Robert (Debbie) Moore, both of Rushville, and Max Moore of Andersonville; sisters, Janet Egielske, Beverly (Fred) Whittaker, Linda (Rodney) Knarr, Diana (Tom) Carlton and Debbie Carlton, all of Rushville; grandchildren, Kyle and Blake Hoynacki, Kenneth Scott, Natalie, Destinee, Brittney S., Caleb James, Charlie Anna Mae and Mallory Claire Moore.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Norma Lee and Mary Ruth Lee.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Fred Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Boys & Girls Club or Little Girls’ Softball or Boys’ Baseball.
