Betty J. Plue, 64, of Rush County, lost her long battle with cancer Aug. 31, 2010. Betty Barber was born July 2, 1946 in Rushville to Carl and Lavona (Vail) Barber, both deceased. She married James L. Plue June 18, 1966; he passed away Dec. 8, 2009. Betty lived her entire life in Rush County. She was a member of Buena Vista Christian Church. She was a 1964 graduate of New Salem High School. She leaves behind her oldest son, James Michael "Mike" (and wife, Laurie) Plue of Mooresville; daughter, Barbara (and husband, Von) Ellis of Selma; youngest son, Robert Alan "Rob" (and wife, Kathy) Plue of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Gretchan Barber of Rush County; and grandchildren, Collette and Clark Plue, Blake and Brandon Ellis and Grant and Owen Plue. In addition to her parents and husband Betty was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Barber. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarian-Ball Hospice, 2401 University Ave., Muncie, IN 47303.
