Mabel L. Law, 90


Mabel L. Law, 90, of Morristown, died Oct. 15, 2009.

Born Dec. 17, 1918 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of George Henry and Clara Mae (Hatsook) Peterson, both deceased. She married Richard G. Law Aug. 29, 1953; he preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2000.

Mrs. Law was a lifetime resident of the Shelby County area, a homemaker and a farm wife. She was a 1937 graduate of Waldron High School and attended secretarial school in Shelbyville. She worked at several places over the years including Quality Print and J.G. Deprez & Company. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ for many years, belonged to the Zion Women’s Guild and held many offices over the years. She also was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Theta Rho active and alpha chapters in Rushville and held offices in both.

Survivors include daughter, Darlene E. Law of Lebanon; son, Dale K. Law of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ c/o Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
