Virginia Louise Alverson, 84, of Greensburg, died Nov. 8, 2009.
Born June 6, 1925 in Milroy, she was the daughter of George and Clysta Emsweller Angle, both deceased. She married Roy S. (Toby) Alverson Nov. 22, 1947; he preceded her in death June 6, 1996.
Mrs. Alverson was a homemaker and secretary who lived in the Clarksburg area her entire life. She graduated from Clarksburg High School in 1943 and from Indiana Business College in 1945. She worked in Indianapolis until her marriage. She was an active member of the Loyal Circle of Clarksburg Christian Church, AOA Sorority, Delta Theta Phi, and the Greensburg Adult Center.
Survivors include children, Linda (Roger) Tilley of Fairland, Larry (Brenda) Alverson of Milroy, Sharon K. Alverson of Greensburg and Steve (Joni) Alverson of Rushville; grandchildren, Brain (Kim) Tilley of Fountaintown, Angela (John) Kinser II, Lenora (James Jr.) Lucas and Darren Tilley, all of Indianapolis, Lisa (Darren) Peters, Jerry Alverson, Aaron Alverson and Toby Loudenback, all of Greensburg; step grandchildren, Carl and Curt Liggett of Rushville; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her first born infant son.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Clarksburg Christian Church with the Rev. Jerran Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg.
