Barbara Dean Kuhn, 73 - corrected


Barbara Dean Kuhn, 73, of Arlington, died Nov. 11, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Greenwood.

Born Jan. 20, 1936 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Robert Clinton and Ethel Pandora (Paugh) Carey, both deceased. She married Paul Andrew Kuhn Jan. 6, 1957; he preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1997.

Mrs. Kuhn lived in the Arlington area for 50 years and previously resided in Fountaintown. A homemaker, she also had worked in the cafeteria at Benjamin Rush Junior High School and in the deli at Kroger. She was a 1954 graduate of Morristown High School, a member of Zion United Church of Christ, the Zion Women’s Guild and a charter member of the Manilla Town and Country Homemakers Club.

Survivors include children, Theresa L. Frazee of Shelbyville, Deborah C. (Steve) Adams of Rushville, Daniel A. (Cindy) Kuhn of Manilla, Charlotte M. (Jim) Gridley of Greenwood and Beverley K. (David) Gesell of Connersville; brother, Robert (Cecil) Carey Jr. of Anderson; sister, Pam (Dale) Graham of Spencer; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Cain, Kira (Ryan) Thomas, Sirena Frazee, Andrew Gridley, Danielle Kuhn, Ashley Kuhn, Brandon Gridley, Christine Kuhn and Richard Kuhn; one great-grandchild, Jocelyn Cain; and step grandchildren, Austin and Mykenzie Dodd.

Services were held Monday at Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Mary Lundgren officiating. Burial followed in Shelby County’s Zion Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
