Justine L. Cooper, 95, formerly of Knightstown, died Nov. 27, 2009.
Born Oct. 18, 1914 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (McKee) May, both deceased. She married Lowell Cooper May 28, 1933; he preceded her in death March 14, 1994.
Mrs. Cooper was a lab technician for several years with Eli Lilly in Greenfield, a member of Psi Iota Psi Sorority, the Fortnightly Women's Group, and First Christian Church of Knightstown. She was a 1932 graduate of Orange High School.
Survivors include sons, Jack L. (Mary Ann) Cooper of McLean, Va. and Jerry L. (Mary Jo) Cooper of Ocala, Fla.; daughter, Lisa (Jim) Browning of Franklin; grandchildren, Claudia Miller of Reston, Va., Jerry L. (Darlene) Cooper Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., Jeremy (Patty) Howard of Knightstown, and Blair (Katie) Howard of Englewood, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Isabelle Carson and Dorothy Mohler; and three brothers, E. Paul, Rolland and Charles May.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Kenton K. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fayette County's Orange Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
