Rev. Karen Ann Fourman, 62


Rev. Karen Ann Fourman, 62, of Ohio, died Dec. 12, 2009.

Born Feb. 25, 1947, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Robert and Ardith (Beckner) Norris, both deceased. She married Tom Lynn Fourman July 6, 1968.

Rev. Fourman was a graduate of Houser High School in Hope. She was a 1969 graduate of Earlham College. After teaching in the Arcanum Elementary School for several years she attended United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, earning a Masters of Divinity degree in 1993. She was appointed to High Street United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ohio where she served for three years. She then served as pastor of the Mt. Blanchard UMC in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, where she served until 2007. She was active in the Emmaus Communities of Springfield and Findlay, Ohio.

Survivors include daughters, Heather (Greg) Heiser of Arcanum, Ohio and Emily (Bill) Millmine of Delphos, Ohio; grandchildren, Joe, Maggie, and Audrey Heiser, and Lucas Millmine; and sister, Marsha (Hersh) Chambers of Arlington.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Ritzhaupt of New Jersey.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church in Arcanum, Ohio with the Revs. Tom Hite and Ken Woode officiating. Burial will be in Abbottsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kreitzers’ Funeral Home in Arcanum, Ohio.
