Caralyn Jane Skillman, 67

RUSHVILLE — Caralyn Jane Skillman, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Major Hospital.

She was born Aug. 28, 1945, in Rushville, to Russell and Gladys (Fritts) Aldridge. She married Richard Skillman Nov. 21, 1973; he survives.

Other survivors include her twin sister, Maralyn (husband, David) Eads of Shelbyville; brother-in-law, Jack Isley of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Mary Aldridge of Milroy, several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews including Jessica, Jenna, Jared, Makenna, Macie, Madeline and Matthew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, June A. Isley, JoAnn Wiley and Betty Mosburg; and brothers, Lowell Aldridge and Earl Aldridge.

Caralyn graduated from Milroy High School in 1963.

She formerly worked at KCL Corporation for 43 years, after which she worked at Walmart for four years, retiring in 2009.

Caralyn was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she served on the trustee board.

She was very caring about other people and loved the time she spent with her great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed going to the casino.

Caralyn also leaves behind her cat, Libby.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the funeral home, with Frank Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
