RUSHVILLE — Robert R. "Bobby" Spiker Jr., 56, passed away Jan. 27, 2012 at his residence.
The son of Robert R. Spiker Sr. and Anna Alberta Sleeth Spiker, he was born July 15, 1955 in Hancock County.
Bobby worked for Central Engineering & Construction Association for more than 30 years. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers and attended Arlington Christian Church. After New Palestine High School, Bobby found a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, the Teamsters, hunting mushrooms, teasing the kids and the weekly Sunday breakfast at the Donut Shop in Rushville.
Bobby is survived by his father, Robert R. Spiker Sr.; daughters, Marlisa Spiker (Kevin Swinehart) and Starr Hinton; sons, Rex A., Justin (Monica) Spiker and Tyler Spiker. Bobby was blessed with nine brothers and sisters, Tommy (Linda) Spiker, Barry Spiker, Mike (Ruth) Spiker, James (Carolyn) Spiker, Theresa (George) Spiker, Kevin Spiker, Russell (Becky) Spiker, Walter (Kathy) Spiker and Dawn (Jerry) Hallgarth. Also, five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 128 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial followed in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
