Maxine Wall Kuhn, 86, of Rushville, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones. Maxine was born May 26, 1924 in Franklin County, to Clifford and Ruth (Sherwood) Spacey, both deceased. She married Lloyd Kuhn Nov. 28, 1980 and he preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1994. Maxine had lived in Rushville the last six years. She spent from 1974 to 2004 in Shelbyville. She spent her early life in Rush County. She was a member of Main Street Christian Church, a 50-year member of Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority, a 50-year member of the Martha Poe chapter of the O.E.S. and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Maxine was graduated from the New Salem High School in 1942 where she was valedictorian. She had worked at the Rush County Treasurer's Office from 1966 to 1979, the Shelby County Treasurer's Office during the 1990s and also worked at Kuhn's Landscaping and Nursery in Shelbyville from 1979 to 1990s. Maxine leaves behind three daughters, Deda Whitaker of Las Cruces, N.M., Margo Mull and Lisa Winship, both of Rushville; three step daughters, Mrs. Dwain (Linda) Kuhn of Waldron, Mrs. Drew (Brenda) Soshnick of Zionsville and Sherry Kuhn of Shelbyville; one step son, Gregg Kuhn of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wall (November 1989); and one sister, Betty Osborne. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Rev. Sam Davenport will preside. O.E.S. and Kappa Kappa Sigma services will be conducted the evening of visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Community Foundation to the Dennis and Weldon Wall Fund.
