Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Audrey P. Oldham, 84, of Rush County, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, in Rushville.

She was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Henry County to Willard S. and Laura (Wicker) Pickering. She was a 1946 graduate of Straughn High School.

Audrey married Kenneth L. Oldham Aug. 17, 1946; he preceded her in death April 3, 2005.

She spent her early life in the Straughn-Lewisville area. Audrey had lived in Rush County since she married Kenneth in 1946.

Audrey was a member of Center Christian Church, Indiana Farm Bureau, Rural Youth, supporter of 4-H and the Spiceland OES #563. She spent her entire adult life on the farm in Union Township and helped with daily operations of the farm.

She is survived by her sons, James Edward “Eddie” Oldham of McMinnville, Tenn. and Kent Oldham of Fairfield, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy and husband Jason Sherman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kenneth E. Oldham, James L. Oldham, Christopher J. Oldham, Christina and husband Chris Butcher, Stephany S. Gary, Lauren E. Oldham, Sydney and Charlotte Sherman; great-grandchildren, Logan Conway Boren, Allie and Kinley Butcher and Evelynn Edwards.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister; brother and daughter-in-law, Becky Oldham.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Center Christian Church in Rush County with Pastor Darryl Denney and Steve Abernathy presiding.  Friends are welcome to visit from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. An OES service will be provided at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County 4-H Club through RCCF or Center Christian Church.
