RUSHVILLE — "Dwight" Griner, born Aug. 16, 1922, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 20, 2012, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Dwight was born to Alden and Mabel (Hobbs) Griner in Andersonville and graduated in 1942 from New Salem High School. Dwight served in the Air Force during World War II stationed in Miami, Denver and Ipswich, England.
He married Barbara "Colleen" Bush in 1951 and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1952. He operated the Rio Vista Barber Shop and later the Time Square Barber Shop in Coral Ridge for many years. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Dwight enjoyed his grandchildren, golfing, fishing, oil painting, gardening and playing practical jokes.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Colleen; son, David and his wife Brooke; grandchildren, Dara, Jake and Justin; and niece, Laura Lee (Griner) Cornell and her husband Carl; and nephew, Paul Alden Griner.
He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Lee; and three brothers, Loren L., Paul E., and D. Elmer.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at Lauderdale Memorial Park, Fort Lauderdale.
