Gale Franklin Griffin, 77, of Rushville, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Born May 20, 1931, in Rush County, he was the son of Curtis Griffin and Luella Jessup Griffin. On Jan. 8, 1955, he married Bessie May Northern. She survives.

Mr. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Rush County. He worked at Schnadig Corp. for 38 years and Randall/Textron for 5.5 years.

Survivors besides his wife include three brothers, Leland (Carol) Griffin, Howard (Mary) Griffin, Gary Griffin, all of Rushville; two sisters, Betty Edwards of Anderson, Nadine Carpenter of Rushville; several nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, June Griffin of Henry County and Jean Bailey of Rush County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Faye Griffin; two brothers, Robert Griffin and Danny Griffin; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
