Frank C. Shuffitt, 76, formerly of Rushville, died June 27, 2009 in Centerville.
Born June 27, 1934 in Scottsville, Ky., he was the son of Clarence and Delma (Jones) Shuffitt, both deceased. He was married for 23 years to Judith Bumps who preceded him in death in 1989. He married Mary Bunch June 15, 1987; she preceded him in death Nov. 15, 2008.
Mr. Shuffitt had lived in Rushville since 1987, prior to that he lived in the Glenwood area. He was a typesetter for the Indianapolis Star-News for 36 years and was a past member of First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville.
Survivors include sons; Frank M. (Bonnie), Bobby (Gwen), Richard (Clark), Steve (Michelle) and Jake, all of Indianapolis, and Claude (Pauline) of Nashville; two daughters, Jenny (J.D.) Humphries and Missy (Bobby) Burkes, both of Alabama; step sons, Kenneth E. Long and Ronnie K. Long of Franklin and Lonnie R. Long of Rushville; step daughters, Barbara (Ronnie) Camdon of Franklin, Donna (James) Wilson of Crofton, Ky., Teresa Elkins of Hopkinsville, Ky., Karen Noe of Liberty, Ky., Phyllis Austin of Connersville and Laura McNabb of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wives he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Ross Littlepage officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Visitation will be held after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
