RUSHVILLE — Earl W. Schilling age 92 of Rushville, IN passed away Oct. 11, 2012.

He was born August 7, 1920, in Fountaintown, Indiana a son of the late Carl and Edith (Weber) Schilling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Joanne, sisters Pauline Alyea, Kathryn Cole, and a brother C. W. Schilling.

Earl served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW11 completing 35 missions as a gunner on a B-24 bomber over Europe. He began trucking in the early 1950's located at the Schilling farm near Finly, Indiana. He became partners with Jack Fraley in 1955 which is currently Fraley and Schilling Trucking Co.

Earl enjoyed traveling with his wife, Ruby and they spent winters in Florida. He enjoyed farming, welding and working on projects at his home. He was a true American Patriot serving God, Country and his family whom he loved dearly.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruby (Foreman) whom he married Sept. 13, 1945, two sons, Kenneth(Barbara) Schilling of Mingo Junction, OH; Robert(Melissa) Schilling of Rushville, IN. Six grandchildren: Ben(Shannon) Schilling, Emily(David)Schloss, Sarah(Aubrey)McElroy, Ryan(Nina), Andrew and Daniel. Seven great-grandchildren: Preston and Parker Schilling, Sage, Ava, and Augustine Schloss, Lilly and Charlie McElroy.

A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be 2:00 PM Monday Oct 15th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory 1600 S. SR 3 Rushville, IN 46173 with Chip West officiating. Burial will follow at the New Palestine,IN Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
