Joseph Frank Baltus, 82

RUSHVILLE — Joseph Frank Baltus, 82, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Nov. 3, 2012.

He was born May 9, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Myrtle (Wilson) and Pieter Josef Baltus. He was a 1948 graduate of Sandcreek High School. Joe was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He married Janet Lou Goodpaster Dec. 8, 1957. Joseph was an electrician; he worked for Allison Gas Turbine for 20 years, Cummins for 10 years, and Chrysler for 10 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greensburg.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Lou Baltus; children, Pamela Sue Loyd, Fredrick Josef Baltus, Jim Baltus; brother, William Roger Baltus; grandchildren, Michelle Davis, Melissa (Michael) Ferrara, Joe (Kristol) Loyd, Carrie Baltus, Adam Baltus and Patrick (Emily) Baltus; 11 great-grandchildren, Bryna, Darian, Kayla, Micha, Rose, Halen, Tyler, Hannah, Malachi, Cheyenne and Laykin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bertram Baltus.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the funeral home. Rev. David Thompson and Connie Barr will be officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery.
