Lorena M. Bulmer, 85


Lorena M. Bulmer, 85, of Laurel, died March 13, 2010.

Born Jan. 11, 1925 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of John and Hattie (Winkler) Stone, both deceased. She married Maurice Taylor April 19, 1941; he preceded her in death May 20, 1987. She then married Clarence E. Bulmer Sept. 17, 1994; he survives.

Mrs. Bulmer worked at Philco-Ford in Connersville for 17 years and was also a real estate broker. She was a past deputy of the OES Brookville #449 and a past member of the Laurel Homemakers Club. She was a 1943 graduate of Laurel High School. She was a grist mill clerk in Metamora during the 1980s as well as a member of the Franklin County Area Planning Committee. She also was a dairy farmer during the ‘60s and ‘70s.

Survivors in addition to her husband include son, Don Taylor of Laurel; daughter, Darlena (James) McQueen Jr. of Laurel; step sons, Ron Bulmer of Rushville and Monty Bulmer of New Castle; half brother, John Stone of Connersville; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Paul Storm officiating. Burial will be at Laurel North Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Thursday at the mortuary. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
