RUSHVILLE —
Nellie I. Lanning, 75, of Rushville, passed away Dec. 4, 2012 at Rush Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ralph M. and Cecil D. (Hanshew) Newbold. She married Donald Lanning March 17, 1957; he survives. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved reading, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Donald of Rushville; two sons, Doug (Vicky) Lanning of Troy, Ohio and Michael Lanning of Osgood; two daughters, Nancy (Ward) Frazier of Shelbyville and Anita (Jim) Anderson of Tuscola, Ill.; grandchildren, Athena Anderson of Urbana, Ill, EM 3 Stephanie Case USN of Norfolk, Va,; great-grandson, Vaniel Case; two brothers, Tom Newbold of Cumberland and Max (Deanna) Newbold of Indianapolis.
Preceding her in death are brothers, Gene, Bob, Dick, Bill and Jerry; and sister, Martha.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, Rushville with Pastor Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Raleigh’s Zion Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
