The Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation would like to thank many people that so generously gave of their time, talents, and resources to the Brian’s Cause – Together We Can event. It was a wonderful morning and the event was a huge success. Because of you, Brian’s Cause was able to raise more than $15,000 for the Brain’s Cause Cancer Treatment Relief Fund! Every person in this community has been personally touched by cancer either through family, friends or co-workers. This fund is in continual need of money because it has been able to assist at this point in time three worthy recipients with their cancer treatment costs needs. The ability of the community to come together and help in these cases is such a wonderful way to give back. It is organizer’s hope to increase the monies in the Brian’s Cause Fund so that they may be able to help more qualified patients.

Congratulations to the seventeen survivors that were honored. This day is about celebrating you and remembering loved ones that have lost their battle with cancer.
Thanks to the many volunteers that helped on the day of our Brian’s Cause – Together We Can event. Volunteers came from the RMH Board of Directors, RMH Foundation Board of Directors, many RMH employees, Rush County Junior Leaders, Big Brother/Big Sisters, and individuals that came to help. Without you this event just could not happen. A huge thanks goes to the many businesses and individuals that donated for our silent auction. It was the biggest and best auction yet and raised more money than any previous auction.
Organizers want to publicly thank Frank Denzler for providing music for the day, the St. Paul’s UMC Praise Team for their special music, Bill Todd and Dr. Jamie Ayon for speaking so eloquently and sharing your stories, to Flight Stat for bringing their helicopter and providing tours, and last by not least to the many individuals that came and participated in the walk, the silent auction, and purchased mums and “Hope” stones.
Finally, thank you to the Brian’s Cause Committee – Michele Gettinger, EventChair; Faith Mock, RMH Foundation Executive Director; Brian Conner, John Byrne, Vickie Frazier, Frank Denzler, Marilyn Spillman, Teresa Meyer, and Shannon Cagel-Dawson. You have continued to work hard to make this a very special event.
