RUSHVILLE —
Chapter 0813 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees met Dec. 12 at the Bluebird Restaurant in Morristown for its monthly meeting and Christmas Party. President Eva Stone opened the meeting by welcoming those present and followed with Kay Hineman leading the group with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Invocation.
Chapter business meeting had the Secretary and Treasurer’s reports and other committee reports given. Chapter officers for 2013 were sworn in by chapter president Stone. All chapter officers from 2012 were carried forwarded for 2013. Birthdays for December were Anne Clapp, Doris Harris and Jack Fix. The attendance prize was won by Richard Wagner and the Christmas party door prize was won by Joanie Meo.
After the brief business meeting, chapter members were treated to a free lunch at the Bluebird Restaurant with the chapter picking up the tab (one of the perks of attending the December meeting). After the lunch, the chapter had its annual Christmas “Dirty Bingo” party. Our version of “Dirty Bingo” has the members bringing one gift and the winners would choose one wrapped gift or stealing somebody else’s opened gift. If you missed the meeting, you missed out on a great “free” lunch and a lot of fun.
The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg with optional lunch following the meeting.
If you are a retired federal employee or currently an active employee and have an interest in attending chapter meetings, join us at our next meeting.
