RUSHVILLE —
Chapter 0813 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees met Nov. 20 at the Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg for it monthly meeting. President Eva Stone opened the meeting by welcoming those present and followed with Kay Hineman leading the group with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Invocation.
November is the chapters’ organization/business month with no monthly program scheduled. Chapter officers (elected by chapter members) and appointed committees were completed for the coming year. The chapter officers are: President - Eva Stone, vice president - Rita Flack, secretary - Harold DeWitt and treasurer - Gertrude Wickliff, which were all carried over from 2012 for 2013. Committee assignments for 2013 are: Legislative officer - Robert McClintic, service officer - Richard Wagner, membership and telephone - Eva Vanatta, sunshine - Mary Edwards, program - Rita Flack and Mary Edwards, chaplains - Kay Hineman and Lillian Jones, and historian - Eva Stone. All these offices were also carried over from 2012 to 2013.
Other chapter business had the secretary and treasurer reports being read and approved with the legislative officer, service officer, vice president and committee reports following. The attendance prize was won by Pat Springman. Birthdays for November were Richard and Andrea Wagner, and the anniversary of Paul and Dorine Rosfeld of 56 years were all acknowledged. Information for Medicare Part B increase of $5 a month and cola increase of 1.7% a month for 2013 was given to chapter members. Richard Wagner proudly announced that his wife Andrea not only had her own handmade Chenille Bags in the goody bags for the CMA Awards Show (October meeting), she also has her own handmade neck scarves in the goody bags for the Emmy Awards Show, Way to go Andrea.
The next meeting will be the chapters annual Christmas party starting at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday December 12 at the Bluebird Restaurant in Morristown. Lunch will be served with “Dirty Bingo” following after lunch. Members are to bring one $7 gift that will be picked by bingo game winners and once all gifts are gone, the following dirty bingo winners get to pick from any of the gifts that were already selected, it’s a fun time for all.
