Alex Workman Memorial Fund grant application deadline

RUSHVILLE — Garry Cooley, executive director of the Rush County Community Foundation, is announcing that the grant application deadline for the Alex Workman Memorial Fund is at 4 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2013.   

The primary purpose of this Fund is to provide support to children with autism. The annual distribution from this fund will be available to families who have children with autism or to a Rush County teacher who works with children with autism on a competitive grant process.

Families who apply must currently be residents of Rush County and must have lived in Rush County a minimum of six months before applying. They may apply for special services required, payments for summer camps or equipment at home which is used for therapy and not covered by insurance.

Teachers may apply to take additional classes or training in working with children with autism.

Successful applicants will have the payments from this fund made to providers and may not be made to individuals or families. Classes or training for teachers will be made to the school or company providing the training.

    The Noble Niters met May 29 at New Salem Methodist Church Ed building. Fifteen members and four guests attended. Linda Murphy read “Graduation” for inspiration. She also gave a report on “How to Buy Bliss.” The members discussed plans for Achievement Night in October.
