Kemker meets with Optimist Club

RUSHVILLE — Rush County Emergency Management/Homeland Security director Chuck Kemker presented an informative program at the March 5 Rushville Breakfast Optimist Club meeting. Rush County is 1 of 13 counties in Indiana EMA District 6. Kemker explained the 5 functions of Emergency Management - mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and prevention. Emergency plans are in place at the Riverside Park Amphitheater, Rush County Fairgrounds and the Rush County Courthouse, according to Kemker, and he’s presently working on a flood evacuation plan for Rushville. Kemker (right) is pictured with Optimist Club Program chair Ken Masters (left). The Rushville Breakfast Optimist Club meets at 6:15 a.m. every Tuesday at the Park Restaurant. The Optimist mission: By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids.
