Rotary enjoys Madrigals’ performance

RUSHVILLE — The Rushville Rotary Club met Dec. 11 in the conference center at Rush Memorial Hospital.

Dr. John Williams called the meeting to order. Jan Dimick offered a few words of prayer. The club then recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

This week’s meeting was conducted differently from most in that the program preceded the meal. The program featured the very talented Madrigal singers from RCHS. They treated the club to approximately 20 minutes of musical bliss on the heels of their recent 4-night sold-out stand at the Rush County Courthouse. Thanks to Mr. Paul Grizzard, RCHS choir director, for treating us to the sounds of the Christmas season.

In club news, it was decided that we will make an effort to do a matching fund to raise money for the Varsity Scholars. Last year, the club matched up to $750. January will start the collections for this.

We agreed to purchase 35 hams for the food pantry. This will cost the club $215.

There is a meeting Dec. 18

There will be no meeting Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

On Jan. 8., Rushville Mayor Mike Pavey will give the State of the City address.
