RUSHVILLE —
Back in 2007, Plum Creek Christian Church ditched the church building for a Sunday morning and held her first outdoor worship service at Rushville Memorial Park next to the Gazebo. It was an awesome experience followed by plenty of food and activities. From there, the service has grown each year and to put it very mildly, the people of Plum Creek really look forward to this day each year.
In 2011, the service was moved to The Rushville Riverside Park Amphitheater and the congregation found it to be a great venue as they honored and said "thank you," to community servants on the anniversary of 9/11.
This year, Plum Creek Christian Church announces the 6th Annual Outdoor Worship Service, called "Amped Up 2012," to be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Amphitheater. During the service, Rush County Schools employees as well as St. Mary's Catholic School employees and Carthage Elementary School employees will be honored for their hard work and dedication to the youth of our community. There will also be a children's church for ages 4 thru grade 6 during the worship service. The service will be followed by a great church meal and plenty of games and activities for all ages.
The people of Plum Creek want to personally extend a warm invitation to all in our community who may not have a church family to come join us for this time of worship, food, fun and laughter. Please know that Plum Creek will be preparing the meal, so come and be our guest. We also want you to know that we will be dressed very causal, so come as you are. You will just need to bring a lawn chair for each person attending. There will be handicap parking and assistance for anyone who may need help.
In case of severe weather, the service will be moved to the RCHS Auxiliary Gym. One exciting note for parents is that we will be introducing our new Family Life Minister (birth-high school ministry) that Sunday.
God is doing some exciting things in the hearts of the people at Plum Creek and in our community and we would love for you to be a part of it at 10 a.m. Sept. 16.
If you have any questions, please e-mail secretary@plumcreekchristianchurch.org or call the church at 765-645-5058.
