RUSHVILLE —
Volunteers are needed to ring bells at the Salvation Army kettles again this year. The funds collected at the kettles stay in Rush County to meet the emergency assistance needs of Rush County families. These funds are used to purchase food and medication as well as to pay for rent and utilities. The need is great in Rush County. So far this year, Salvation Army has helped 242 families with about the same amount of families being turned away due to lack of funds. But you can help all these families by ringing the bell this Christmas Season. All churches, civic organizations, schools, government offices, businesses and individual citizens of Rush County are asked to take part in “ringing the bell.” If you or your organization would like to schedule an hour or more to ring the bell please contact Rev. Gary Jordan or Tim Williams at the Rushville First Church of God at 765-932-5138 or email at rushvillechog@frontier.com. Bell Ringing will be at the front doors of Kroger & Walmart in Rushville beginning on Nov. 23 and ending on Dec. 24 (except for Sundays).
