Hi, all you kind folks in Readership Land,
With the “winter blahs” upon us, laughter is needed! Here goes.
When Samuel Clough/S. O’Molley Cluff, 1837-1910, of Ireland, wrote the words for his hymn, “I Am Praying For You, For You I am Praying” and the music set by Ira B. Sankey,1840-1908, I don’t think he had in mind of a little feller “acting up” in church.
One Sunday morning, little Jimmy was “acting up” during the morning worship hour. His parents did their best to maintain some order in the pew, but were loosing the battle. (Little boys just can’t seem to sit still in pews...especially old hardwood ones with NO cushions. Even a little church mouse knows that feeling!)
Finally, little Jimmy’s father picked the little feller up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out to the foyer. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, little Jimmy called out loudly to the congregation....
“Pray for me! Pray for me!”
I hope that made you chuckle knowing little Jimmy’s plight was probably a stern talking to or “Mercy” a warm bottom.
In reading...” Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. James 5:13 NKJV.
Until the next time,
Angel The Church Mouse
