Greetings, one and all, and welcome! As I sit here before my iMac, preparing for another installment of RR&RT, a few thoughts worth sharing cross my mind. However, as your luck would have it, there’s enough submitted material that I can save it for another day. What say we check the mail and see what’s up with The Roiling Hundreds!

n “Stewardesses” is the longest word typed only with the left hand and “lollipop” with the right. (I’ll take your word for it. kg)
n I worked for the local school system for 38 years and spent 17 years taking care of Memorial gym. I spent a total of 35 years working varsity games and have spent a great deal of time over the years watching varsity practices. I also played three sports in high school under Bob Hinshaw and I never heard him use a four-letter word. That goes for Jim Gridley, Jack Brown, Les Ray, Ken Pennington and John Wilson too. Look at their records and you’ll see that these men were successful. They won sectionals, regionals and, a few, some semistate games. If recent allegations are true the parents who stepped forward should be presented a letter jacket.
n I don’t care of they’re Chamber members or not, I don’t like the idea of an out-of-town restaurant being promoted on Main Street.
n I recently saw, on Meet the Press, where a couple of experts said they told Bush, Cheney, Rummy and the rest of that bunch in the White House that there were no legitimate reasons to invade Iraq six months before we went in. I say impeach the lot of them, and let them take Daniels with them.
n An Amish style eatery?
n Raves to the basketball team member who had the guts to write an apology for his parents’ actions. The many comments and letters praising the coach’s qualities have turned him into a hero.
n All of the recent controversy makes one wonder why anyone would apply for a coaching job in Rushville.
n I hope and pray our school board will have the wisdom to restore music education to grade school curriculum. It should be obvious that the training aspects have imparted hundreds of students with knowledge, ability and appreciation that lasts a lifetime, as opposed to sports training.
n Raves to Bill Ward for one of his recent columns. I was raised on a farm and I love going back in time. Kids of today don’t know what they are missing.
n Is anyone out in TV Land tired of the stupid reality shows?
n Hooray! It’s spring! Does anyone else see the wonders of God’s creation?
n Rants to the person who had the nerve to destroy a memorial garden in honor of a mother and friend. I am totally shocked. Can you sleep at night? Can you go to church and ask for forgiveness? I pray you will be forgiven. To the people who will not be human long enough to respect someone else’s wishes, where does it end?
n Why are some people so lazy they can’t see trash laying all over their yards? Does the inside of these homes look as bad as the outside? (I won’t speculate on that, but your comment does remind me that it’s time to remind readers that with the onset of milder weather now is a good time to go outside and pick up your yards. Everything once hidden beneath the snow is now easy to see and much of it is unsightly. Do your neighbors and your community a favor. Ten minutes and a couple of trash bags can make a world of difference. kg)
