RCCF Education Fund Grants awarded
The Rush County Education Fund Grants Committee recently met to review grant applications for the 2012 grant cycle and to make their recommendations to the Rush County Community Foundation's Board of Directors.

Franklin College students initiated into English Honor Society
FRANKLIN, Ind. - Franklin College's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta honor society inducted two new members in April.
Sigma Tau Delta was established at Dakota Wesleyan University in 1924. It is an international honor society that supports and promotes academic excellence in the English field. Sigma Tau Delta not only recognizes students, but also the accomplishments of professional writers.
Franklin College's Sigma Tau Delta chapter was established in 1987 and has since initiated 171 members. The honor society is advised by professor of English, Kathy Carlson.
This year's inductees included Hilary Orme, a junior, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Orme of Rushville.

Rush County students graduate IWU
Two students from Rush County were among the 2,000 students who received degrees during graduation ceremonies April 28 at Indiana Wesleyan University's main campus in Marion.

Elliott elected to Phi Beta Kappa
Amanda Elliott, of Saint Paul, a student in the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences, has been invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States.

Franklin College recently presented Hillary Cain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Cain of Rushville, with the TRACY French Award during their foreign language program ceremony.

Summer Food Program begins with FREE nutritious lunches May 30 for ALL Rush County youth under 18 and anyone over 18 enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.
