RUSHVILLE —
What do you do before Thanksgiving? Well, you take a stretch limo to McDonald’s, of course!
This honor came because each of these students sold over 30 items for the RESE and RESW fundraiser.
Candles, warmers and cookies were just a few of the various items for purchase. Profits from these sales experts and the many other students who participated provide funds for field trips, class incentives and new playground equipment.
As a way of saying thank you for their hard work, 11 top participants were transported by stretch limo to McDonald’s for a celebration lunch. Since the trip was rather short, an extended jaunt downtown and around the courthouse seemed in order and gave a new meaning to being “out to lunch!”

Grizzard named Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction
Educator Paul Grizzard of Rushville Consolidated High School was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS.) Grizzard was nominated by student Autumn Meece for the honor.

Knightstown 4th Graders Visit Statehouse — Fourth-grade students from Charles A. Beard School Corporation meet with State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) and State Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) after touring the Indiana Statehouse on Monday, May 13.

The RCHS Class of 1983 is planning their 30 year class reunion for this summer. The event will take place starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Knights of Columbus.

Kindergarten class hears guest book reader
Marlene Fudge, Rush County Farm Bureau women’s leader, read the book “A to Z Corn” to Mrs. Angle’s Kindergarten class and presented the book to the classroom. Mrs. Fudge also made a snack for each student out of different kinds of corn cereal.

Marlene Fudge and Barbara Powers recently visited Mays Elementary to teach the students about cattle.
