RUSHVILLE —
It takes a lot of long nights, hours of homework, and keeping that work up to the best of their abilities day after day for the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior students who are in the academic Top 10 at Rushville Consolidated High School.
These Top 10 students in each grade were recognized Wednesday night at an annual dinner hosted by the Rushville Rotary Club.
The top students and their parents enjoyed a meal with Rotary members at Rushville Elementary School West, received medals for their outstanding academic achievement and were treated to the insights shared by guest speaker Dr. James Halik, superintendent of Southern Hancock School Corporation. Rotary president and Rush County Schools Superintendent Dr. John Williams welcomed everyone and spoke about Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” and the Rotary Four Way Test: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will? Will it be beneficial to all concerned.
While a March snowstorm had closed schools for the day, these exemplary students showed more of the perseverance that sets them apart academically and showed up on their snow day shined and polished for the annual Rotary dinner.

He talked about the importance of kindness towards others and the value of service back to the communities we live in, such as is provided by organizations like Rushville Rotary Club.
