Trine's Combs earns honors

RUSHVILLE — For the second time this week, Trine University football player Blaek Combs (Rushville, Ind./Rushville) earned honors, this time being named to the National D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for his performance against Albion College. Combs, a junior, was  already honored as the conference Defensive Player of the Week after making a career- and game-high 17 tackles, eight solo, and came up with a clutch interception in the game’s final minute to preserve Trine’s 27-22 win over defending conference champion Albion. He is the third Trine player to be named to the National Team of the Week, joining Caleb Nitz and Nick Muir.

  • Rushville eliminates Madison in softball sectional opener

    GREENSBURG - The Lady Lions opened sectional action Tuesday against Madison and eliminated the Lady Cubs 6-0 to advance to the sectional semifinal. The Lady Lions (10-10) face Greensburg in the second semifinal following Batesville and South Dearborn.

  • Lady Red Devils eliminate Lady Lions

    RICHMOND - The Lady Lion tennis team fell to Richmond 5-0 in the first round of the regional at Richmond.
    At No. 1 singles, Allison Wainwright lost 6-1, 6-1 to Peyton Young. At No. 2 singles, Rosella Troyer fell 6-0, 6-0 to Katy Robinson. Sarah Harpring lost at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0.
