RUSHVILLE — The journey for wrestlers in the IHSAA state tournament began Saturday in the sectional. The Lions traveled to South Dearborn and finished fifth as a team and qualified five wrestlers for this weekend’s regional at Richmond.

Garrett Hittle took third at 170. Hittle (29-3) won by technical fall 19-2 over Josh Orschell of Franklin County and ended the day by defeating Batesville’s Will Amberger by injury default.

The final regional qualifier was Robbie Hadley, taking third at 220. Hadley (25-8) avenged earlier losses by defeating John Marvel of Connersville 13-6 and pinning Dustin Conety of South Dearborn in 2:55 to earn third place.
