RCHS harriers post season best times
The RCHS cross country teams traveled to the 35th annual Whiteland Invitational Saturday. Every member of the team posted a season best time in the invitational.
New Palestine won the title for the girls with 29. Roncalli was second with 71 followed by Greenwood 73, Whiteland 109, Waldron 121, Pike Central 167, Jennings County 202, Shelbyville 226, Southwestern Shelby 256, Beech Grove 274, Hauser 293 and Rushville incomplete.
The Lady Lions were led by junior Hillary Cain with a 10th place finish in a season best 20:58.
Andrea Cloud was 38 th in a season best 23:41.
Anne Coffin ran to 50 th place in a season best 25:08.
Amber Mardis finished 61st in a season best 26:28.
For the boys, Jennings County took top honors with 52. Roncalli was second with 61 followed by Whiteland 69, Shelbyville 119, Hauser 136, Rushville 157, New Palestine 167, Greenwood 187, Pike Central 212, Waldron 298, Beech Grove 310 and Southwestern Shelby 327.
Senior Derek Eddy took 19th to lead the Lions in a season best 18:13.
Loys Rees was 22 nd in a season best 18:21.
Freshman Ryan Fogg took 32nd in a season best 18:42.
Eric Barton finished 37th in a season best 18:51.
Greg Hood (season best 19:25) held off teammate Jamison Turner (season best 19:26) for 47 th place.
Josh Hoeing had a season best time of 19:53 to take 61st place.
In the open race, Richard Griffith was 16th in a season best 20:14. Nick Zepeda was close behind in a season best 20:14 for 17th place. David Slaton had a season best 24:01 for 47th.
RCHS travels to Liberty to face Union County and Connersville at Whitewater State Park.

- Harriers open season at Classic The cross country season kicked off Saturday with the annual running of the Rushville Classic.
- Lady Tigers win HHC golf title Fall Creek golf course was the host for the Hoosier Heritage Conference golf tournament Saturday. Yorktown swept top honors with the individual medalist of 73 and team score of 330.
- No. 8 Lady Eagles sweep Lady Lions Class 3A No. 8 Delta defeated the visiting Lady Lions 25-15, 25-14, 25-18 in girls varsity volleyball action Thursday.
- Lions rally to post road win at Howe After falling behind 22-11 early in the second half, the Lions rallied to improve to 2-0 on the season with a 38-22 victory over host Indianapolis Howe in Week 2 of the high school football season.
- Lady Lions shut out by Lady Arabians A strong Pendleton Heights girls soccer team posted a 10-0 Hoosier Heritage Conference victory over host Rushville Thursday.
