Patrick Wolf sweeps fair races at Rushville

Patrick Wolf of Arlington made it a clean sweep of the Rush County Fair races with his victory Saturday night at Rushville. For the second night in a row he won in a Goff Racing car. Friday it was the Terry Goff owned No. 35 but Saturday night it was the Oogie Goff owned No. 19 that he drove to the win and another certificate from the Dutch Mill Buffet in Milroy.

Bobby Walton finished second with Jason Goff third, Trent Henderson fourth and Oogie Goff rounding out the top five.

Quick time was Travis Welpott at 12.920 seconds. The Trophy Dash for the four slowest qualifiers went to Becky Brown. The Trophy Dash for the four fastest qualifiers went to Trent Henderson, who received a Dutch Mill Buffet certificate for his efforts.

Heat races went to Nick Spiedel, Brandon Gray and Doug Roland. The G&G; Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” went to Michael Koontz who got five gallons of fuel for advancing the most positions in the feature.

In mini sprint action it was a pair of females taking the top honors. In winged competition it was Sara Elrod, a mini sprint feature winner at Rushville on June 6, taking the win. When the non-wing mini sprints took to the track it was Stephanie Mockler going to victory lane in dominant fashion.



FRIDAY

Patrick Wolf was the feature winner on the first night of the Rush County Fair races on Friday night in Rushville.

Driving the No. 35 for Terry Goff, Wolf took the second win of his UMRA career (the other came last year at Rushville during on the second night of the fair). Wolf was followed to the line by Scot Quintel, who finished a career-best second, Zach Cougill, Nick Spiedel and Tim Lynch rounded out the top five.

Ron Combs was fast qualifier at 13.583 seconds. A trophy dash was held for the four slowest qualifiers with Ron Hamm taking home five gallons of fuel courtesy of Tommy Vest. The trophy dash for the four fastest qualifiers went to Oogie Goff who received a certificate from the Dutch Mill Buffet in Milroy.

Heat races went to Patrick Wolf, Scot Quintel and Ron Hamm.

For the third race in a row Terry Goff got five gallons of fuel thanks to being the G&G; Oil “Hard Charger of the Race.”

The UMRA TQ Midgets will be back in action Saturday night at Rushville as they will be joined by the mini sprints in their second appearance of 2009 at the Rush County Fairgrounds.
