Rushville traveled to Franklin County to face a possible sectional opponent in the Wildcats. Franklin County edged the Lions 3-2 in the varsity match. Rushville's Kyle Hoeing won at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-3 to extend his win streak to three matches. At No. 1 doubles, Anthony Troyer and Josh Hoeing improved to 3-3 on the season with a straight sets win 6-4, 6-2. “I am very happy that my No. 1 singles (Kyle) and No. 1 doubles (Anthony and Josh) are starting to put it together and play really well. We just need the rest of the guys to step it up and start getting some team wins,” head coach Ryan Berkemeier noted. At No. 2 singles, Ryan Shouse fell 6-4, 6-4. Josh Hummel lost 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. At No. 2 doubles, Hunter Earnest and Brayton Wood lost 6-4, 6-1. In junior varsity action, Spencer Bruns lost 8-3 and then returned to win 8-4. Eric Barton lost 8-3. In doubles, David Slaton and Jacob Fowler lost 8-2. The Lions travel to Pendleton Heights at 5 p.m. today.Sports
