No. 2 Lady Arabians hold off Lady Lions
On the road at Class 4A No. 2 Pendleton Heights, the Lady Lions fell in conference softball action 4-0.
The game was tied through four innings. Rushville’s Catie Liggett had the first hit for the Lady Lions with a line drive to right center in the second inning. Jessica Wilson reached base in the third on a Lady Arabian error. -

Fifth inning keys Lions' win over Panthers
Rushville sent nine batters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and plated four runs to get past visiting Knightstown 7-4.
The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Lions came right back to grab the lead in the home-half of the inning.
Austin Maggard and Kyle Hoeing opened the inning with singles. With two outs, John Riddell walked to load the bases and Hunter Orme delivered a single to left to score Maggard and Hoeing. -

Physicals for the 2013-2014 RCHS school year will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 at Rush Memorial Hospital.

Lions, Marauders split doubleheader
In the cold, windy conditions Friday, the Lions and Marauders split a doubleheader at the Council of Clubs Field.
Mt. Vernon took the early lead as Ohio State recruit Troy Montgomery led off with a home run to right field. Rushville starting pitcher Mark Busald came back to get the next three Marauders on strikes. -

Batesville shuts out Lady Lions on courts
The Batesville High School tennis team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 5-0 victory over the Rushville Lady Lions.
Batesville’s No. 2 singles player Lydia Olsen battled to the very end to defeat Rosella Troyer in the three sets. -
RCHS JV softball
The RCHS JV softball team traveled to Greensburg Monday and came away with 16-13 win over the host Lady Pirates.
The locals plated five runs in the top of the first as Shelbie Brown walked and scored on a Tori Colestock double. -
Pirates blast 3 HRs in win over Lions
The Lions played host to possible sectional foe Greensburg Wednesday at the Council of Clubs Field. The Pirates scored four runs in the top of the first and three in the top of the second en route to the 9-4 victory.

Tigers sweep double-dip from Lions
YORKTOWN - The Lion baseball team traveled to Yorktown for a conference double header with the Tigers Friday. Yorktown posted a sweep by winning the first game 10-1 and the second 14-9.
