Katherine (Kari) Elizabeth Mahan and Clinton Lee McClellan were united in marriage Aug. 21, 2010. The double ring ceremony was held at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Fort Wayne with Monsignor Bruce Piechocki presiding at the Nuptial Mass. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin (Julie) Mahan of Rushville. Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Mahan, grandparents of the bride, attended. Honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Joni) Alverson, uncle and aunt of the bride. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry (Linda) McClellan of Auburn. Art Busche, grandfather of the groom, attended. The bride wore an ivory satin ball gown with a sweetheart neckline. The ruched bodice was embroidered with flowers and adorned by hand with rhinestones and crystals. The gown featured a dropped waistline and a chapel-length train. The back of the gown was accented along the seam with satin-covered buttons from the bodice to the hemline. Crystals accented the blusher of her ivory chapel-length veil. Earrings, a bracelet, and a hairpiece of Swarovski crystals and ivory pearls in complementary styling completed her bridal ensemble. The bride carried a rounded hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangea, Eskimo and Vendela roses, pearl-centered stephanotis, and gardenias. The bouquet stems were banded in ivory satin ribbon. The bride’s rosary was entwined in her bouquet, and she carried an embroidered handkerchief which belonged to her great-grandmother. The Maid of Honor was Kristin Mahan, sister of the bride, of Indianapolis. Bridesmaids were: Kristy Jo Carper, friend of the bride, of Fort Wayne; Stacy McClellan, sister of the groom, of Butler; and Jessica Alsman, friend of the bride, of Anderson. The bridesmaids wore floor-length strapless gowns of latte satin with sweetheart necklines. The ruched bodices were gathered at the side and accented with a small sash and a rhinestone brooch at the waistline. The gowns were accessorized with complementary earrings, necklaces and bracelets, which were gifts from the bride. The bridesmaids carried hand-tied bouquets of white hydrangea, Sophie roses, O’Hara roses, and Pink Majolika spray roses. The bouquet stems were banded in pink satin ribbon. The flower girl was Lauren Brown, friend of the couple, of Butler. The Best Man was Justin Scheumann, friend of the groom, of Fort Wayne. Groomsmen were: Dustin Deter, friend of the groom, of Auburn; Joe Morgan, friend of the groom, of St. Louis, Mo.; and Zech Oberlin, friend of the groom, of Fort Wayne. Mike Woods was pianist. Joe Morgan was trumpeter. Vocalist and cantor for the Nuptial Mass was Lance Connolly. Angela Mapes Turner, friend of the couple, gave the reading. Carl Liggett and Curt Liggett, cousins of the bride, of Rushville, were ushers. Renee Kreischer, friend of the groom, and Joni Alverson, aunt of the bride, registered guests. The wedding reception was held at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn. A rehearsal dinner was held on Aug. 20, 2010 at Don Hall’s Factory in Fort Wayne. The dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Terry McClellan. The bride is a 2003 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and a 2007 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in speech, language, and hearing sciences. She is a 2009 graduate of Purdue University with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. The bride is a Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist for Fort Wayne Community Schools. The groom is a 2001 graduate of DeKalb High School and a 2005 graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He is a 2007 graduate of Indiana University with a Master of Business Administration. The groom is Engineering Manager for Eaton Corporation in Auburn. The couple took a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. They now reside in Fort Wayne.
