l Dance for elementary school age children, 6 to 8 p.m., Boys & Girls Club of Rush County. $3 per person. DJ. Kevin Green.
l The Gathering invites you to An Evening of Christmas Music at 7:30 p.m. Josh Hawkins will be singing and playing Christmas music at 245 N. Main Street. The community is invited to join The Gathering for a free concert of Christmas music, great coffee, hot chocolate and goodies. The Gathering is a community outreach open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays. The Gathering offers freshly ground coffee, muffins and fruit. l Backroad Riders Horse & Pony Club is hosting their Christmas Awards dinner at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary. Anyone interested in attending or joining the club for the 2013 season may call Beth at 765-561-8672.
l Rushville Public Library will offer a free Holiday Show for all ages at 1:30 p.m. at the 201 Building in downtown Rushville. Come an hour earlier for free refreshments and a Christmas craft! Professional comedian and magician Don Miller will present stories, magic and comedy. The program will last about 45 minutes. For more info call the RPL at 932-3496 or stop by the library.

l Annual live Nativity at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Decatur County sponsored by St. Anne, St. John and St. Maurice parishes from 4:30 to 6:30. See the children represent the birth of Jesus. Live animals, free refreshments and beautiful music by area choirs. Take New Point exit #143 off I-74, go north on County Road 850E to St. Maurice.

WEDNESDAY (12/12)
l RCHS Choirs Winter Concert, 7:30 p.m., Laughlin Center, featuring all five choirs. Concert is free and the public is invited.
l The Rush County Health Department Senior Screening from 9 a.m. to noon in the Rush County Health Department, Room 105, Rush County Courthouse. These screenings include weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, hemoglobin and blood sugar. Also, health education will be included during the screening program. Referrals to private physicians when needed. This is available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. Information: 765-932-3103.
l The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will have a Christmas dinner meeting at 6 p.m. at the home of Norene Wright. Donna Kuhn will give devotions. Secret pals will be revealed. New officers for 2013 will be elected.

l RCHS Madrigal performing at 7 p.m. at the Knightstown Diner. Reservations are now bring taken for the performance. Part of the proceeds will be donated back to the RCHS Music Department. Dinner will be served prior to the performance. RSVP Kevin Richey at (765)-445-2328.

l Rush County Players Christmas production, Miracle on 34th Street. Show dates are 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 14 and 15 and at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at St. Mary’s School, 226 E. 5th St. Rushville. SATURDAY (12/15)
l The Boys & Girls Cloub of Rush County will be closed for the day for the annual Christmas parties. The boys’ party starts and 9 a.m. and should be over by 11:30 a.m. The girls’ party starts at noon and should be over by 2 p.m. Both parties are for youth ages 5 through 19 and kids do not need to be members to attend. l Come join us for Christmas dinner from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Fellowship Hall at Wesley United Methodist Church, corner of 8th and North Ft. Wayne Road in Rushville. This is a free dinner. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come join us to give thanks for all our blessings. Donation of a canned food would be appreciated for the food pantry.

l Rush County Heritage is having their 27th annual Christmas Party at Big Flatrock Christian Church, located at 4782 W 650 S, beginning at 6 p.m. Pitch-in with meal, rolls, table service furnished. Entertainment and brief meeting to follow. Dress casual. Everyone invited.
l Main Street Christian Church Manna Mission Meal, 615 N. Main St., offers a free hot meal and fellowship with our friends in need from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. December’s dinner has been changed from the last Tuesday of the month. Carry-out available. Contact the church at 932-2997 for more information.

l Annual Community Tenderloin Supper to support the RCHS Band programs, 4:30 to 7 p.m., RCHS cafeteria. $6 in advance from any band student or $7 at the door. We will be serving tenderloin, hot
dogs, scalloped potatoes, green beans, slaw, apple sauce, desserts and drinks. Everyone is invited to attend and help support the RCHS bands before the boy’s basketball game that evening.

l Financial Aid Night at 6:30 p.m. in the RCHS cafeteria. A representative from the Financial Aid Office at Franklin College will be here to discuss the process of filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, other financial aid information will be available to parents concerning applying for scholarships and grants.

l The community food pantry, 109 East Third Street, Rushville is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Bring photo ID. Donations welcomed.
l Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Use the east entrance at the corner of Adams and Locust streets. Information: 765-313-1637.
