TUESDAY (7/31)

l Auditions for Rush County Player's "The Little Rushcals"continue from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 31 at the Rush County 4-H Horse Park, behind the Rush County Highway Department, 1352 E. State Road 44, Rushville. Those auditioning are asked to bring a list of possible conflicts to auditions. Also, parents are asked to stay on-site as their child auditions. Shows are: Sept. 14, 15, and 16. If necessary, rain dates are the following weekend, Sept. 21-23, with all performances at the Gazebo in South Veterans Memorial Park.

l Registration for Rushville Consolidated High School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 31 and 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Aug. 1.

l Pioneer Engineers Club 64th Annual Reunion, Aug. 2-5, Caldwell Pioneer Acres, 3 miles south of Rushville just off Hwy. 3. Price $5 for all four days. Children under 12 enter free. Expecting 25 plus large steam engines, 300 plus tractors, large variety of gas engines, 100 plus flea markets vendors, entertainment and food. Church services 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. l Indiana State Fair runs Aug. 3-19.

l  Ivy Tech has rescheduled its information session at the Rushville Public Library to Friday, Aug. 3. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., information on programs, degrees, financial aid, support services and getting started for the fall term that begins Aug. 20 will be available. l Springhill Presbyterian Church will be hosting its annual Pork Chop Dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Clarksburg Fire Station. The meal includes: Pork chop, baked beans, corn on the cob (if available), applesauce, homemade desserts. A child's meal includes the above except a hot dog instead of the pork chop. Prices 1 Meal $8. Extra chop $3. Child's meal ages 11 and up $4. Children 10 and under free.

l The Hoosier Environmental Council, an educational and advocacy organization in Indianapolis that focuses on environmental issues, will be giving a presentation at the Rushville Public Library about high speed passenger rail in Indiana, particularly the proposed Chicago to Indianapolis to Cincinnati route. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the library meeting room.

l Every other month the Masonic Lodge hosts an all you can eat pancake breakfast. The breakfast is 6:30 to 10 a.m., Sept. 8. The cost is $5. Sausage, eggs and pancakes will be served.The event is sponsored by Phoenix Lodge #62 F&AM and Martha Poe OES.

    l St. Mary Catholic School annual Green and White Gala.  The Gala is an opportunity to celebrate St. Mary School. Guest speaker will be John Green (SMS 1990 graduate), the son of Daniel and the late Elizabeth “Betty” Green. All are welcome to attend.
